So apparently someone has a new guitar, and she serenades cats with it, and it matches her hair. This is a day for the history books…
Look at that little punk, playing the accordion (for the first time! I learned a whole song) and having the time of her life.

I told my boyfriend that this bass was so beautiful, I kindof want to marry it… He laughed and said, “I just hope your husband will be okay with you being in a band with and dating another guy!” haha
No seriously — look at this beauty. This one’s going on the Instrument Wish List!

Saw Gold Motel opening for They Might Be Giants at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City last night… went over to the merch table, chatted with the lead singer Greta for a bit (she’s a sweetheart!) and bought the vinyl album… got it autographed… Check them out! Awesome, retro-vibe sunshine pop band.

The iPod as a Social Device
Well, the time has come. I’m giving my iPod a makeover, but it’s not just because my music tastes have changed, it’s because I find myself more often than not using it socially, plugging it in for road trips, and it’s frustrating to feel like I don’t have a proper variety of music to offer people! It used to be that the iPod was just my personal music library, with clips of demos that I wanted to review and even some artists I hated — just to keep the good music in perspective. I had jazz on there that I never listened to, just because I felt I “ought” to (if one wants to be a jazz singer, after all!). I’ve kept music on there that I only used to listen to when trying to fall asleep, but I haven’t slept with music on for months. It’s time to get rid of the old and bring in the shiny, new music that I’m listening to now (Spotify is my favorite for discovering new tunes!) and music that my friends will enjoy along with me.

It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart
But the welcome I receive with the restart
